Mike Waters, CPA/PFS

Mike is the founder of Halcyon Professional Advisors, LLC. He is also the owner of an independent CPA firm in Cullman, AL – Michael W. Waters, CPA, LLC. Mike's other business interests include serving as a managing principal in a physician billing company, a diagnostic imaging center, and a medical professional office building. He is an adjunct professor of accounting at Athens State University and teaches classes in Federal Income Taxation.

In addition to being a CPA, Mike earned the Personal Financial Specialist credential from the American Institute of CPAs. He is also a member of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners (ACP) - a community of tax-focused fee only financial planners. ACP members are pioneers of a holistic approach to financial planning that focuses on the person, not a product.

Mike is a native of Cullman, Alabama and a 1985 graduate of Auburn University (B.S. in Accounting) and a 1996 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (M.S. in Accounting & Information Systems). Mike has been married to his wife, Paula, since 1990 and they have three children – Micah, Lydia, and Levi.
